I thought about the half full / half empty glass and turned every moan, whine, complaint that crossed my mind or my ears into gratitude, compliment, approval.

Me but I will share a list of examples you can follow and possibly open doors to feeling better too.
3. Has it brought any new realisations?
Let’s ramble … Having a bad day? Be grateful change is constant and you know of better days, they will come again and this bad one gives them more meaning. Feeling bad about an extra pound or two? Be grateful for having a body that performs and for having the privilege to worry about the little things. Complaining about work? Be grateful for having a job and being able to wish for a better one. The weather not according to your taste? It’s a part of the forever diverse nature, make the most of everything it creates. Relationship problems? Be grateful to have a person so close you get to have arguments with. Missing someone? Be grateful for having the person in your life in the first place. So … don’t worry, be grateful.
