1. What one thing did you do better today?
I chose feeling strong over feeling weak. I chose change over comfort zone. I chose self-empowerment over self-pity. I chose trying harder over giving up and giving in. I chose self-kindness over self-destruction. I chose pride over shame. I chose honesty over fitting in. I chose smile over cool face. I chose connection over selfpreservance. I chose to receive and radiate light over picturing gray skies.
2. Has doing so made you or someone else feel better?
The insecure me. I had a moment when all that self empowering talk aspiring change and make big decisions didn’t seem like forcing myself to be something I am not but rather sounded like a voice from within, being awakened and coming to light.
3. Has it brought any new realisations?
I have always loved this quote by F. Scott Fitzgerald – “For what it’s worth… it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over again.”
I think I needed to be reminded of it again and it crossed my path at the right time. Yes, change is often the way forward even when risking making a step back first. But it’s worth it when you want to live a life you are proud of.
