1. What one thing did you do better today?
I took time to take a photo of these doors I have been admiring in Ljubljana for months. I wanted to do an illustration and capture the patterns and lovely colors.
2. Has doing so made you or someone else feel better?
3. Has it brought any new realisations?
I have been a big enthusiast of pastel colors probably ever since I came across watercolors and the subtle tones they create. If not before, it happened around mid way through my undergraduate studies. However these days I think my tastes have changed a lot, especially in the past half a year. I used to only notice pastel blue doors, now I gaze at the bright yellow ones. I used to be calmed down by pastel pink and blue, now it’s all tints of natural green. I keep finding myself being amazed by brighter, more vibrant colors in various forms of art. When it comes to interior design I used to love minimalism, white and all shades of gray. These days I love greenery and earthy tones. I am far from saying I dislike pastel colors, however I think I expanded my tastes. At the moment I would say I am in experimental phase, trying out whatever seems interesting, evoking, pleasing, even unknown and unpredictable. Do you think aesthetic growth is in direct correlation to how you grow as a human being? It sure makes sense if personality and character change and grow, so will taste, style and art.
