1. What one thing did you do better today?
Today’s better act is as simple as it gets, one anyone can do in a day. I was walking through the city centre in between two out of three after work meet-ups and instead of rushing with a grumpy expression on my face due to over crowded streets, I put a smile on my face. I put some music on, walked slowly, observed people passing by, and arrived on my destination on time, feeling calm.
2. Has doing so made you or someone else feel better?
Me! Maybe not better but at least I did not make people I met with feel worse.
3. Has it brought any new realisations?
This small, better act of today is a good example of what I thought my #100DaysofBetterMe project will mostly consist of. Small steps out of the known, comfort zone towards a better me. Most of the time I walk fast, with a serious face that I often joke is my resting face. I am probably heading somewhere so I don’t particularly like slow walking people. Ljubljana’s city centre these days is filled with those, most of them being tourists so of course they are walking slowly. Usually that would annoy me. I am even capable of rolling my eyes at them on the inside but when I think about it, it is only me being negative and feeling frustrated. And then of course sometimes my frustrations land at someone else, probably someone completely innocent who had nothing to do with me being grumpy. Such a waste. So this walk today was a good reminder of how small things can change so much. I started smiling on the outside and ended up smiling on the inside. What one thing did you do today that changed your way of thinking or moved you in a direction towards a better you?
