1. What one thing did you do better today?
I am spending late afternoon and evening at home, with myself. I am starting my two week vacation on Saturday and decided to not leave things that need to be done till the last night and avoid rushing everything. So tonight is for taking time. Taking time, in peace, to clean the apartment, wash my clothes (hopefully this time I manage to keep the whites white) and plan what I am taking with me to Spain. I will finish off some client work and top it off with some good music, some bodyweight exercises in between, with a hydrating mask on my face. Zen mode on.
2. Has doing so made you or someone else feel better?
3. Has it brought any new realisations?
I remembered this quote from Ken Mogi’s The Little Book of Ikigai; “So make music, even when nobody is listening. Draw a picture, when nobody is watching. Write a short story that no one will read. The inner joys and satisfactions will be more than enough to make you carry on with your life. If you have succeeded in doing so, then you have made yourself a master of being in the here and now.” I do not consider myself a master, however cleaning for me is certainly one of activities that gets me into the happy here and now.
