1. What one thing did you do better today?
I quit my full time job!!! I have been working for advertising agency Pristop for the past 5 years, started off as a graphic designer straight after University, was promoted to junior art director and on to an art director. Throughout these past years I have had the opportunity, privilege and an honour to work on some amazing projects and with many creative, inspiring, wonderful people. I have learned so much in this creative, diverse, fast paced environment and grew so much, creatively as well as personally. However in the past few months a longing for change has continued to grown and I knew I needed to make a step forward and outside my comfort zone. I decided to start working for myself. To invest more time in my personal projects and private clients and starting my own business at the moment feels like the right way forward in my career. I am happy to know I will continue working with Pristop as a freelancer and am beyond excited for every new and exciting opportunity coming my way. Even more so for the ones I will create myself. I have no doubt the journey ahead will be a wonderful one. My heart is singing and dancing, I am so proud of myself to have had the courage to make this step and finally take a leap of faith into the unknown.
2. Has doing so made you or someone else feel better?
Meee!! I cannot put into words how hard and liberating, challenging and rewarding making this decision felt like at the same time.
3. Has it brought any new realisations?
So many! but the one that will hopefully forever stay with me … stepping outside the comfort zone feels SOOOO GOOD!! Yes, it felt scary at first and I had moments of doubt, but this decision came from the heart and when I did it, I knew it was the right thing. I forgot how good it feels to follow my dreams, to risk security, to have the audacity to let myself feel scared again, to step into the unknown knowing nothing can go wrong as I am following my greatest passion. And it is this passion, grit, curiosity and wonder that made me do it. Here’s me looking forwards to the new chapter of my life!
