1. What one thing did you do better today?
I invited my mom and dad for an evening together in Ljubljana, to spend some time just the three of us. I scheduled quality time together before I leave for my vacation. Ljubljana is lovely when taking your time, even more so when you get to listen to @mararogelja singing live.
2. Has doing so made you or someone else feel better?
All three of us. An amazing evening. I don’t remember when was the last time we were together just us three. I come from a family of five children so random Sunday or birthday lunches at home are usually with all of us present, which now often comes up to around 10 people.
3. Has it brought any new realisations?
My sister sent me this message a while ago and it was one of the things that inspired me to plan and initiate quality time with parents: “I free my parents from ever feeling disappointed by them. I thank my ancestors for connecting and allowing me to be born. I free them from mistakes of the past and the desires they have not fulfilled, knowing that they have done their best to solve their problems, according with the awareness and understanding they had at the time. I respect them, love them, and see their innocence.” It feels good and right to invest time in family. It also feels good to feel like a grown up individual around my parents. I am forever thankful for everything they have taught me. For everything they have given to me. For making it possible for me to live a life I love. Grateful for the name they have given me that carries a meaning of life. Forever grateful to be raised in a big family where I get to have so many friends for life.
